DON COPAON

The history of the family wine brand "Don Copaon"

Own Home Raw Wine (homemade raw wine)

The idea of winemaking came from my father, so in 2017 we have started producing homemade wine. First of all, we produced for ourselves and for the relatives and friends. During the first year we used two grape varieties such as "Saperavi" (Dry Red Wine) and "Rkatsiteli" (Dry White Wine). Wine also made from the "Kibray" (Dry Red Wine) variety in subsequent years. To date, the composition includes "Saperavi", the main variety of homemade wine.

Design and Naming:

The first design was simple. The point of the design was to show and emphasize that this is a handmade product, not from specialized alcohol company. Naming came immediately as well as the visual component. Inspired by Italian wines, Tuscany, and local winemakers, the name "DON COPAON" was born.

Sorting

n subsequent years, we expanded the range of varieties, so it was necessary to develop several variations of the labels. The original logo was left as it fully matched the brand. The new labels are based on my personal work in visual art. So we divided the varieties according to labels, where "Saperavi" was a lion, and "Kibray" was a tiger.

Rebranding

In 2021, we have launched a small rebranding of the labels. People began to buy our products from other regions of the country, and it was necessary to introduce the image of the city where our homemade wine is produced. I personally drew a picture embodying the above concept and added a text part that tells about wine and its production.
